IOC International Symposium on Olive Oil and Prevention of Chronic Disease

The UC Davis Olive Center hosted the International Conference on Olive Oil and Prevention of Chronic Disease sponsored by the prestigious International Olive Council (IOC) from Madrid, Spain.  The event was located at The Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science at UC Davis on January 17, 2018.

This was a great opportunity to hear the latest research and trends in Public Health related to Olive Oil consumption around the globe.  Studies included topics of cardiovascular disease, cancer, neurodegeneration, Mediterranean diet, cognitive disorders, depression, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, peripheral artery disease and Type II Diabetes.

My personal takeaway from the day - Consume 4 TBSP EVOO every day and the Mediterranean diet lifestyle can lead to health and longevity.
